Snowflake provides a cloud-based data platform, while the Openflow team develops an extensible data integration platform powered by Apache NiFi.

What you will do

• Design and implement features across Openflow’s control plane and data plane.
• Build and improve distributed systems supporting batch and streaming data movement across Snowflake and non-Snowflake environments.
• Deliver small projects end to end, from requirements clarification and technical design through implementation, testing, rollout, and follow-up improvements.
• Operate production components through monitoring, on-call participation, incident response, and post-incident reliability work.
• Improve service and pipeline performance, scalability, observability, security, and maintainability.
• Collaborate on technical planning, code reviews, design discussions, shared tooling, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of industry experience building and operating backend or platform services with distributed systems.
• Strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, systems design, operating systems, and networking.
• Practical knowledge of concurrency, replication, partitioning, streaming, fault tolerance, multithreading, memory management, and storage.
• Proficiency in Java or a similar object-oriented language such as Scala, Go, or C++.
• Experience building cloud-native services with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including containers, CI/CD, monitoring, and logging.
• BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache NiFi, Kafka, Flink, Airflow, data integration, observability, streaming, or flow technologies.
• Experience with analytics or data platforms.
