Exhibition Floor Plan Designer (Contractor/Freelance Role)

Exhibition Floor Plan Designer (AutoCAD/EXPOCAD): Creating and maintaining detailed exhibition floor plans, booth layouts, technical drawings, and venue documentation for large-scale events with an accent on space optimization, traffic flow, and regulatory compliance. Focus on managing multiple concurrent projects, coordinating frequent plan changes with sales and operations teams, and producing accurate calculations and technical packages under tight deadlines.

Location: Roshn Front, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Freelance contract running from August to December 2026.

What you will do

• Create exhibition floor plans, booth layouts, aisle configurations, and traffic-flow designs using AutoCAD, EXPOCAD, or similar CAD software.
• Update plans as booths are sold, held, or reconfigured, providing current availability and space options to support sales negotiations.
• Coordinate with venue management, sales, sales operations, event management, project management, marketing, and operations teams.
• Prepare floor plan calculations covering sellable space, gross and net areas, and occupancy figures.
• Produce venue comparison reports, technical drawings, and documentation packages for operations teams, contractors, and venue authorities.
• Manage multiple projects, revisions, deadlines, file organization, and version control.

Requirements

• Previous experience in exhibition floor planning or the same role, supported by a portfolio of floor plan and technical drawing work.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for large-scale trade show plans, booth layouts, numbering systems, and space optimization.
• Hands-on experience with EXPOCAD or similar software for automated layouts, booth split/combine requests, and exhibitor spatial datasets.
• Degree in drafting, architecture, interior design, or a related field, or 2–4 years of equivalent professional experience.
• Knowledge of scale, measurements, spatial relationships, building codes, accessibility requirements, and venue safety regulations.
• English is essential. Strong communication, organization, accuracy, and deadline-management skills are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with exhibition organizers or venue operators in the GCC region.
• Technical understanding of UAE and Saudi Arabian exhibition venues; familiarity with Hong Kong venues is a plus.
• Knowledge of SketchUp, Adobe Illustrator, 3D rendering, event management software, or floor plan booking software.
• Arabic language skills.
