What you will do

• Design and develop scalable microservices to support high-volume, real-time messaging workloads.
• Deliver features through the full software development lifecycle, from technical design to production support.
• Improve service reliability by implementing effective logging, monitoring, and observability practices.
• Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Ensure applications meet security, privacy, and compliance requirements, including PCI, HIPAA, and GDPR.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience focusing on backend development.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and/or Java.
• Experience building and maintaining cloud-native or distributed applications.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and working with relational or NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of CI/CD practices and automated testing.
• Must be based in or able to work from Galway, Ireland.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, and Kinesis.
• Familiarity with high-availability concepts and distributed systems.
• Background in building messaging or collaboration platforms.
