What you will do

• Embed with clients across private equity, lending, and real estate to map operations and identify high-leverage AI opportunities.
• Architect and deploy LLM/RAG pipelines, agent orchestration systems, conversational AI, and predictive analytics.
• Own the end-to-end delivery process, from running discovery sessions and scoping to building and shipping the final production system.
• Present technical trade-offs and expected outcomes to C-suite stakeholders.
• Build evaluation frameworks, regression suites, and observability layers to ensure production reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers through pair programming, design reviews, and hands-on coaching.

Requirements

• Ability to commute to the Del Mar, CA office full-time.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years specifically focused on production AI/ML systems.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Python, with comfort across the stack (React/Next.js, PostgreSQL, cloud infrastructure).
• Proven experience shipping LLM-powered products to real users, moving beyond proofs-of-concept.
• Hands-on expertise with modern LLMs, RAG architectures, agent frameworks, and prompt engineering.
• Exceptional communication skills for whiteboarding architecture with engineers and presenting ROI to executives.

Nice to have

• Experience as a former founder or early startup engineer.
• Domain expertise in financial services, real estate, lending, or B2B SaaS.
• Track record of deploying AI systems that directly improved business KPIs (revenue, cost, or time).
• Active involvement in the AI community via open source, speaking, or building in public.
