Salary: $93,600–$156,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the development of innovative characterization methods for drug substances, excipients, and particulate materials from particulate to bulk scales.
• Apply AI, ML, and advanced analytics to extract insights from complex datasets and enable predictive understanding of material behavior.
• Develop and implement automated, high-throughput characterization workflows and integrate robotic platforms into digital laboratory environments.
• Partner with process modelers and digital scientists to establish data pipelines supporting model-informed drug product development.
• Collaborate with formulation scientists and process engineers to connect material properties with process performance and product quality.
• Communicate scientific findings through technical reports, presentations, publications, and patents.

Requirements

• PhD with 0–3 years of relevant experience, or MS with 7–9 years of industrial experience in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Demonstrated expertise in the characterization of powders, particulate materials, or granular systems.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with experience handling complex experimental datasets.
• Proven record of scientific publications, presentations, or technology development.
• Must be authorized to be employed in the U.S. by any employer; visa sponsorship (TN, O-1, H-1B, etc.) is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in developing novel characterization methods, instrumentation, or measurement workflows.
• Proficiency in programming and data analysis using Python, R, MATLAB, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of statistical methods, Design of Experiments (DoE), and multivariate data analysis.
• Familiarity with laboratory automation, robotics, and digital laboratory solutions.
