Senior Principal Engineer, AI/ML Platform

Location: San Francisco, CA, USA

Salary: $178,875–$320,650 annual base salary for U.S.-based roles; offers may exceed this range and may include bonuses, stock grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the strategy, development, and deployment of the next-generation AI/ML platform.
• Define and execute the platform roadmap with product management, data science, data, and cloud infrastructure teams.
• Guide the architecture of scalable, reliable, and efficient AI/ML systems and make critical technology decisions.
• Drive platform execution using agile practices, software engineering standards, code quality, and security principles.
• Participate in code reviews and technical problem-solving alongside software and ML engineers.
• Mentor engineers and build a high-performance engineering culture.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years as a technical lead or software architect.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; master's degree preferred.
• Experience leading and mentoring software and ML engineering teams.
• Experience building and operating scalable production systems on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience deploying AI models with AWS SageMaker, Amazon Bedrock, or Azure Machine Learning, including agentic AI architectures, API ecosystems, guardrails, and context management.
• Strong knowledge of MLOps, deep learning, statistical modeling, neural networks, CI/CD, automation, Scrum, and agile development.
