TL;DR

Salary: $144,000–$198,000 USD base pay

What you will do

  • Design, analyze, and test EMI filters for aircraft and other products, including component selection, board layout, and grounding strategies.
  • Perform circuit and finite-element simulations for emissions, susceptibility, ESD, and lightning-strike effects.
  • Provide EMC recommendations for PCB layouts, cable shielding, enclosures, and grounding to electrical, power electronics, and mechanical engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with EMC test engineers to design, test, and certify products against DO-160G and MIL-461G.
  • Coordinate aircraft-level and pre-compliance/compliance testing with external EMC laboratories.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with EMI analysis and simulation for power electronics and electrical circuits.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB, PLECS, PSIM, and Ansys electromagnetic tools including Q3D, SIWave, HFSS, and Maxwell.
  • Detailed knowledge of EMC equipment such as LISNs, antennas, BCI probes, EMI receivers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, and impedance analyzers.
  • Familiarity with DO-160, MIL-461, CISPR 12/16/25/32, UN ECE Regulation 10, and FCC Part 15/18.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice to have

  • EMC pre-compliance and certification experience in the aerospace or automotive industries.
  • Experience with SI/PI design, simulation, and measurement.
  • Experience designing, analyzing, and testing active EMI filters.
