Energy Technician III (Energy Efficiency)

Four-day work week with 10-hour days, local travel, a company van, and no overnight travel. A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Salary: $21.10–$31.70 per hour; target compensation of $23.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Represent local energy-efficiency programs and the company when visiting residential customers.
• Educate utility customers about energy waste reduction and ways to save energy and money.
• Install basic residential energy-efficiency equipment, with training provided.
• Inspect homes for insulation, air sealing, HVAC equipment, and other improvement opportunities.
• Provide technical guidance, installation support, status updates, and issue resolution to program staff.
• Travel throughout the assigned territory while maintaining company equipment and vehicle.

Requirements

• Live in or within a reasonable commuting distance of the greater Metro Detroit territory.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of relevant industry experience preferred, with mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to use computers and related software.
• Ability to climb ladders up to 10 feet and lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, successful motor vehicle check, and post-offer drug test required.

Nice to have

• Associate degree with relevant technical certification or training.
• BPI certification.
• Experience or interest in residential construction and HVAC equipment.
