What you will do

• Develop, test, and deploy high-quality code for large-scale data platforms.
• Build and support services for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data (audio, video, text, images).
• Collaborate with global teams across multiple time zones to ensure alignment and continuity.
• Support platform capabilities for data cataloging, analytics, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement scalability improvements.
• Participate in on-call rotations for production support and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
• 3+ years of experience developing scalable, distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Scala, Java, or Python.
• Experience with cloud-based services (AWS preferred, GCP a plus).
• Exposure to event streaming (Kafka, Kinesis, SQS) and distributed data processing (Spark, Flink).
• Must be able to work in a hybrid setup in San Diego, CA.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Databricks or similar unified data platforms.
• Experience with unstructured data formats (images, video, audio).
• Familiarity with data cataloging, lineage, and metadata tools.
• Knowledge of GCP or multi-cloud environments.
