What you will do

• Build, maintain, and administer HPC services supporting more than 700 machines, 26,000 cores, and 10+ petabytes of storage.
• Administer Linux workstations, HPC clusters, high-speed networks, and parallel filesystems.
• Design and support container-based HPC workflows that allow users to run custom environments.
• Manage job schedulers, configuration management, monitoring, and complex CI/CD workflows.
• Investigate system issues, monitor infrastructure health, and resolve problems proactively.
• Collaborate with FSL users and system administrators to support NASA human spaceflight programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a related field, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Professional experience with Linux system administration and large-scale systems, including at least 2 years in HPC administration.
• Experience with system configuration management, container-based HPC workflows, complex CI/CD workflows, and HPC job scheduler administration.
• Strong problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency is required; the role may also require a U.S. Government background investigation.

Nice to have

• Red Hat-based systems, Docker, Podman, or Apptainer.
• Lustre parallel filesystems, InfiniBand networking, SLURM, SPACK, Ansible, or Foreman.
• Git/GitLab, software development, log consolidation, and monitoring.
• Experience with the Johnson Space Center campus network or NASA security mechanisms.
