What you will do

• Design, build, and optimize nanosecond-level trading systems in C++ from architecture through production.
• Co-design software and hardware boundaries with FPGA engineers, including integration and communication.
• Work with researchers to integrate machine learning signals into automated trading systems.
• Maintain a pragmatic, clear, and deliberately scoped modern C++ codebase.

Requirements

• Strong command of modern C++ for performance-critical systems.
• Deep knowledge of operating-system design, cache behavior, memory, and concurrency.
• Demonstrated ability to design and reason about latency-critical software at nanosecond scale.
• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States or work from the Chicago base.

Nice to have

• Experience with FPGAs, HLS, or software/hardware co-design.
• Knowledge of kernel-bypass networking, including DPDK, ef_vi, or OpenOnload.
• Exposure to machine learning, quantitative research, or production model deployment.
• Familiarity with futures markets or market microstructure.
