Junior Lawyer (Fintech): Supporting legal and regulatory operations for virtual asset activities, payment services, and investment advisory in Brazil with an accent on financial regulation, regulatory reporting, and consumer protection. Focus on preparing regulator submissions, interpreting evolving requirements, and embedding compliance obligations into day-to-day product and business operations.

Location: Hybrid in São Paulo, with three days per week in the office

What you will do

• Support legal and regulatory compliance for virtual asset operations, PIX, and payment institution activities, including asset segregation, internal controls, AML/CFT, cybersecurity, and client transparency.
• Assist with authorization processes, regulatory filings, reporting requirements, and tracking deadlines before relevant authorities.
• Support compliance with investment advisory obligations, including registration, independence requirements, regulator responses, and internal guidelines.
• Prepare evidence and defense materials for consumer complaints and proceedings, as well as responses to official authority requests.
• Monitor legal and regulatory changes and explain their practical impact to compliance, product, reporting, and business teams.
• Draft legal memos, opinions, corporate documents, and internal materials while maintaining records for audits and supervision.

Requirements

• Law degree with active bar admission or admission in progress.
• Fluent Portuguese required.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of financial regulation or a strong interest in developing this expertise.
• Familiarity with regulated institutions and the ability to manage regulatory deadlines.
• Strong written communication, organization, attention to detail, and proactive working style.

Nice to have

• Intermediate or advanced English.
• Experience in a fintech, bank, brokerage, or law firm focused on financial regulatory law.
• Postgraduate studies or coursework in digital law, capital markets, or intellectual property.
• Knowledge of compliance and AML/CFT.
