Salary: $180,000 – $280,000

What you will do

• Design and build key components of Stellar Core, the backbone software of the Stellar Network.
• Develop robust, scalable, and extensible technologies for network participants.
• Collaborate on new architectures and subsystems with the CTO and the open-source community.
• Own core subsystems and drive the team toward critical product milestones.
• Investigate and refactor performance bottlenecks to continue scaling the system.
• Author detailed technical feature and protocol (RFC) specifications.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience developing software on a team.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
• Proficiency in modern C++ or Rust in a production environment.
• Solid understanding of software design patterns for building reusable and modular components.
• Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Direct experience designing and implementing distributed systems.
• Curiosity and fundamental understanding of blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies.
