What you will do
- Own the application engineering strategy across backend, mobile, and desktop platforms.
- Lead and grow a small, senior team of engineers.
- Design and maintain production-grade reliability, including observability, monitoring, and failure handling.
- Set architectural direction for AI-powered product workflows and client integrations.
- Partner with Machine Learning leadership to translate model capabilities into shippable features.
- Make high-impact technical decisions balancing latency, cost, and user experience.
Requirements
- Must be based in China.
- Significant experience leading application or product engineering for complex systems.
- Strong hands-on background building and shipping production-grade backend systems.
- Experience delivering AI-powered products with deep understanding of integration trade-offs.
- Excellent system design skills across services, APIs, and data flows.
- Proven ability to make high-impact technical decisions under ambiguity.
