Risk Assurance Manager (Fintech)

TL;DR

Risk Assurance Manager (Fintech): Providing independent Second-Line of Defence (2LOD) assurance over the design and effectiveness of the bank’s risk management framework and controls with an accent on EU regulatory compliance. Focus on executing thematic reviews across conduct, financial crime, and operational risk to ensure safe and resilient growth.

Location: Hybrid in Madrid (2-3 days a week in office), with occasional travel to Dublin and London

What you will do

• Plan and execute comprehensive risk assurance activities and effectiveness reviews to ensure EU-wide adherence to the enterprise risk framework.
• Conduct targeted thematic reviews across conduct, compliance, financial crime, IT, and prudential risk.
• Identify gaps within the risk management framework and recommend practical, high-impact remediation solutions.
• Engage with business and risk stakeholders to foster a collaborative and transparent risk culture.
• Contribute to the annual risk assurance plan by monitoring regulatory trends and market practices.
• Report thematic insights, trends, and remediation progress to senior management committees.

Requirements

• Strong background in risk assurance, internal audit, or risk management within banking or fintech in the European regulatory landscape.
• Experience leading reviews in ICT, Information Security, Fraud, AML/Sanctions, and Conduct Risk.
• Deep understanding of risk and control frameworks such as COSO or ISO.
• Strong data analysis skills with the ability to extract and present complex issues clearly to stakeholders.
• Must be based in Madrid to support the hybrid working model.
• Ability to travel to head offices in Dublin and London from time to time.
