Epoch Games is a volunteer-based, fully remote global development team working on The Lays of Althas: Sundered Order, an open-world fantasy RPG built with Unreal Engine 4. The team is looking for a Technical Artist to develop shaders, lighting, particle systems, visual effects, and optimisation solutions for the project.

🚀 Responsibilities
• Create shaders in Unreal Engine 4
• Develop and improve in-game lighting
• Create particle systems and visual effects
• Perform optimisation work
• Collaborate with the Level Design team
• Attend team meetings in Slack
• Report progress on a weekly basis
• Follow team policies and production workflows
• Communicate technical issues clearly with other team members

📚 Required Skills
• Experience with Unreal Engine 4
• Experience creating shaders
• Experience working with lighting
• Experience creating particle systems
• Experience producing visual effects
• Understanding of optimisation for real-time projects
• Strong online communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with a remote team
• Fluent English
• Passion for game development
• Commitment to creating high-quality games

👍 Nice to Have
• Experience with OpenGL
• Experience with Git
• Experience working on open-world RPG projects
• Experience collaborating with distributed development teams
