TL;DR
Security Engineer (AppSec): Actively remediating vulnerabilities and legacy code within the codebase to ensure platform security with an accent on code-level troubleshooting and dependency management. Focus on embedding security guardrails into the SDLC, automating incident response, and guiding engineering teams through defect remediation.
Location: Remote (Must be based in the US within EST or CST time zones)

What you will do
- Remediate vulnerabilities and legacy code by updating outdated libraries and rewriting deprecated components.
- Collaborate with engineering pods to troubleshoot and execute security defect fixes.
- Develop security playbooks and coding standards to upskill the engineering organization.
- Integrate automated security scanning tools (SAST/DAST/SCA) into the SDLC.
- Harden cloud infrastructure via customized firewalls, intrusion detection, and encryption.
- Automate incident response logic to contain system anomalies and minimize downtime.
Requirements
- 5-8+ years of experience in Application Security or Security Engineering.
- Ability to read code and write fixes or scripts to resolve architectural flaws.
- Experience managing technical debt and updating third-party dependencies.
- Proficiency with cloud-native architectures, containers, and CI/CD integrations.
- Knowledge of OWASP fundamentals.
