TL;DR
Cybersecurity Engineer – Applications (Application Security): Embedding security throughout the software development lifecycle by designing secure systems, identifying vulnerabilities, and reducing risk across application portfolios with an accent on secure software delivery, vulnerability analysis, and engineering collaboration. Focus on code review, SAST/DAST/SCA integration, authentication and cryptography, cloud security, and offensive and defensive security practices.
Location: 100% remote within the United States
Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually

What you will do
- Embed security throughout the software development lifecycle and application portfolio.
- Partner with engineering teams to design secure systems and reduce production risk.
- Identify vulnerabilities using hands-on offensive and defensive security practices.
- Perform code reviews across at least two major programming languages.
- Integrate SAST, DAST, SCA, and other security tooling into CI/CD pipelines.
- Communicate security risks and improvements to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 5+ years of application security or security engineering experience; the position lists 6+ years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10, vulnerability classes, exploit patterns, authentication, authorization, and cryptographic primitives.
- Experience with cloud security, infrastructure controls, Agile development, and at least one programming language for tooling and automation.
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; new H-1B visa petitions are not sponsored.
Nice to have
- OSCP, OSCE, GWAPT, CISSP, or other industry certifications.
- Offensive security tooling, red-team operations, bug bounty experience, public CVEs, or open-source security contributions.
- AI/LLM application security experience.
- Experience with regulated industries and strict compliance requirements.
