Security Engineer II

Location: Must be based in Mexico City within 2 hours commuting distance to the city center

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain robust security solutions across network infrastructure and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to protect systems against evolving threats while maintaining operational efficiency.
• Build resilient defenses, ensure compliance with local financial regulations, and respond to security incidents effectively.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Mexico City within 2 hours commuting distance to the city center for occasional on-site work.
• 3+ years of experience in network engineering focused on security implementation and management.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, architecture, and security principles, especially in high-volume financial transaction environments.
• Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems and principles.
• Proficiency in automation scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with security frameworks and compliance standards relevant to financial sector and SPEI operations.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS security services and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
• Experience with security monitoring and SIEM tools in financial contexts.
• Understanding of fraud detection and prevention mechanisms for electronic payment systems.
