Salary: $128,000 – $160,000 + equity

What you will do

• Own and scale the overall tax function as the primary internal resource for the business.
• Manage federal, state, and local income tax compliance, reviewing filings and ensuring accurate submissions.
• Oversee in-house filings for state fantasy sports and customer tax information reporting.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to develop and maintain customer-facing tax capabilities.
• Coordinate annual tax provisions under ASC 740 and R&D tax credit analysis.
• Research tax implications for new products, markets, and business initiatives.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting and in-house corporate environments.
• CPA certification with a strong technical foundation in federal and state income tax.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Experience reviewing complex datasets and reconciling tax calculations.
• Ability to translate complex tax requirements into operational and technical requirements for non-tax stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-growth startups or lean finance teams.
• Background in fintech, gaming, or other highly regulated industries.
• Significant multistate tax and nexus experience.
• Experience with equity compensation tax (ISOs, NSOs, RSUs) and high-volume payee reporting.
