Mechanical Design & Routing Engineer (m/w/d) (Aerospace Avionics): Designing mechanical structures and Avionics unit configurations, including 3D harness routing and documentation, with an accent on lifecycle ownership, interface management, and design-rule development. Focus on solving fast-paced R&D integration challenges across electrical, structures, propulsion, and production to ensure manufacturability and on-time delivery within budget and scope.

What you will do

  • Perform mechanical design of Avionics Units and align interfaces with electrical designers and system interface owners.
  • Own the design and configuration of Avionics Units, managing lifecycle, interfaces, and delivery on time, within budget, and within scope.
  • Track requirements and verification, and develop overarching design rules and standards for the team/company.
  • Execute harness routing for current and next-generation launchers: plan, model, and document harness paths (bundling, clamping, and routing in 3D).
  • Create production support documentation (assembly instructions, harness drawings, work instructions) and design test fixtures/jigs for development and testing.
  • Support integration, testing, and production by ensuring manufacturability and installation feasibility; interpret system-level diagrams and topologies.

Requirements

  • BSc/MSc in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical design, development, and documentation from concept to production.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or Siemens NX.
  • Experience with 3D harness design and routing (bundling, clamping, and path definition).
  • Strong understanding of factors affecting unit design (Materials, Thermal, FEM analysis, etc.).
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
