Lead AI Engineer (LATAM)

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end architecture of internal and external agentic systems.
• Design and deploy production LLM agents capable of taking consequential actions with human-in-the-loop controls.
• Build and maintain evaluation harnesses for agentic systems, including observability, tracing, and guardrails.
• Develop advanced retrieval systems using GraphRAG and semantic layers to ground agents in proprietary domain data.
• Partner with data and ML teams to integrate pipelines and vector stores.
• Act as a player-coach, writing production code while defining the roadmap and hiring strategy.

Requirements

• Must be based in the LATAM region
• 5+ years of experience shipping production software with strong backend engineering skills (Python core).
• Proven track record of shipping LLM agents to production with multi-step tool-calling and stateful orchestration.
• Experience building evaluation harnesses for agentic systems and managing non-determinism.
• Deep understanding of retrieval systems, including chunking strategies and structured retrieval.
• Experience leading an agentic initiative or team from architecture to production.

Nice to have

• Experience with graph-backed retrieval (GraphRAG, property graphs, ontologies).
• Experience fine-tuning or distilling open-source models (LoRA/QLoRA).
• Experience operating open-source models via vLLM or similar frameworks.
