What you will do

• Design and execute a research agenda for deep-learning based motion planning in self-driving.
• Advance state-of-the-art techniques in imitation learning, reinforcement learning, and foundation models.
• Collaborate with platform teams to deploy research findings into production systems.
• Monitor and contribute to the latest developments in AI, ML, and computer vision.
• Ensure engineering excellence through high-quality, well-structured, and tested code.
• Publish research at top-tier conferences such as NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, and CVPR.

Requirements

• MS/PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a similar technical field (exceptional Bachelor's students considered).
• Experience in planning and decision-making approaches like RL, imitation learning, or optimal control.
• Demonstrated research experience via internships, projects, or papers at top conferences.
• Strong quantitative background in linear algebra, calculus, and probability.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Must be based in the US or Canada.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in self-driving technology.
• Experience deploying ML/DL models to a production robotics stack.
• Proficiency in PyTorch, Rust, C++, and/or CUDA.
