TL;DR
Hardware Integration Engineer (Aerospace): Building and integrating electronics for subscale electric aircraft platforms with an accent on wiring harnesses, sensor interfaces, power distribution, and hardware bring-up. Focus on validating integrated hardware, troubleshooting EMI and signal-integrity issues, and coordinating with perception, navigation, and test engineers.

Location: Onsite in San Jose, California, United States

Salary: $140,000–$260,000 base pay per year

What you will do

  • Build and bring up subscale aircraft platforms, including flight controllers, companion computers, radios, and sensor payloads.
  • Design and fabricate wiring harnesses, connectors, cable routing, and power distribution for onboard electronics.
  • Validate integrated hardware end-to-end on the bench and aircraft platform with test and program teams.
  • Troubleshoot EMI, power, and signal-integrity issues across sensor and compute interfaces.
  • Collaborate with perception, navigation, and test engineers to meet system requirements.
  • Maintain build documentation, wiring diagrams, and configuration records for fielded systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience integrating hardware on small aircraft or robotic platforms.
  • Experience with MIPI, USB, Ethernet, and CAN sensor and compute interfaces.
  • Experience with wiring harness design, connectorization, and cable routing.
  • Working knowledge of EMI mitigation and power management for embedded systems.
  • Comfort working hands-on in a lab or hangar environment with hardware bring-up and debugging.

Nice to have

  • Experience with PX4, ArduPilot, or similar flight controllers.
  • Familiarity with NVIDIA Jetson companion computers and radio or telemetry integration.
  • Background in small aircraft, robotics, or aerospace hardware integration.
  • Experience supporting test or field operations.
