Senior Security Engineer

Location: Hybrid in San Jose, California, with on-site work required three days per week, or fully remote from an approved U.S. location. Access to export-controlled information requires meeting applicable U.S. Government ITAR/EAR eligibility requirements.

Salary: $184,000–$208,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and manage endpoint security across macOS and Windows fleets, including EDR/XDR policy tuning, alert triage, and incident response.
• Own network security architecture covering firewalls, IDS/IPS, segmentation, VPN infrastructure, proxies, DNS security, and packet analysis.
• Lead vulnerability management, prioritize findings, coordinate remediation, and track closure metrics.
• Administer and harden Okta and AWS IAM, including SSO, conditional access, privilege reviews, and lifecycle automation.
• Build SIEM detections, monitoring, response playbooks, DLP controls, and security awareness campaigns.
• Support incident investigations, cloud security posture management, security assessments, policy development, and CMMC/NIST 800-171 compliance activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in information security or security engineering.
• Hands-on experience with EDR/XDR, vulnerability scanning platforms, IAM administration, and SIEM-based detection engineering.
• Strong AWS security knowledge, including IAM, VPC, security groups, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and Config.
• Solid networking knowledge and familiarity with NIST 800-171, CMMC, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with engineers and leadership.
• Must meet applicable ITAR/EAR eligibility requirements to access export-controlled information.

Nice to have

• CISSP, GIAC, CEH, AWS Security Specialty, or similar certification.
• Infrastructure-as-code security with Terraform or CloudFormation and CI/CD pipeline security experience.
• Experience with ITAR/EAR export-controlled environments.
