What you will do

• Draft and refine adverse determination reasons and patient communications using plain language standards.
• Collaborate with clinicians and policy writers to ensure medical accuracy and consistency.
• Translate complex regulatory and medical content into patient-centered language.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, NCQA, URAC, and state mandates.
• Develop templates, style guides, and best practices for patient-facing content.
• Partner with informatics and design teams to capture and automate clinical knowledge.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in medical writing, patient communications, or health literacy.
• Proven experience with clinical policy, utilization management, or the payer environment.
• Strong knowledge of health literacy principles and plain language standards.
• Background in nursing or clinical practice is strongly preferred.
