What you will do

• Lead the development of mission architecture and high-level system designs for complex satellite and ground operations.
• Translate customer mission objectives into executable technical concepts through architectural decomposition and systems engineering analysis.
• Establish and maintain the technical baseline, including Concepts of Operations (ConOps), use cases, requirements, and interface definitions.
• Lead technical design reviews and facilitate architectural trade studies to ensure alignment with mission objectives.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Go-to-Market teams to shape technology roadmaps and product strategies.
• Mentor systems engineers and drive the continuous improvement of digital engineering and lifecycle development practices.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering, or Physics.
• Minimum 8 years of systems engineering experience in complex aerospace, defense, or robotics programs.
• Extensive experience developing mission architectures and ConOps for ground systems supporting satellite missions.
• Strong proficiency in systems engineering methodologies, including the "V-model", requirements engineering, and verification/validation.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with executive leadership and external stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML and tools such as Cameo, Enterprise Architect, or MagicDraw.
• Experience with requirements management platforms like IBM DOORS Next, Jama Connect, or Polarion.
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 and the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook.
• Experience with satellite constellations, remote sensing, or defense space systems.
