Head of Operations (AI)

Location: Fully remote anywhere in South Africa

Salary: Up to ZAR 1,000,000 on a full-time, permanent employment contract

What you will do

• Build and implement the operating model across multiple products, including clear roles, responsibilities, teams, processes, and accountability.
• Hire and manage high-performing teams, place people where they can excel, and develop structures that support execution.
• Own spending across SaaS, AI, and cloud infrastructure, identifying unnecessary usage and negotiating costs.
• Improve delivery readiness for major client moments, finals, tentpole events, and sporting events through strong coverage, monitoring, and ownership.
• Rebuild repeatable internal processes around AI, skills, and automation as the default operating approach.
• Turn founders’ outcomes and direction into execution while identifying and establishing missing roles and processes.

Requirements

• Experience running operations in a fast-moving, high-growth technology or SaaS environment with undefined scope.
• Hands-on and strategic operating ability, including working with billing dashboards, engineers, clients, and team structures.
• Strong accountability, judgment, direct communication, and people leadership skills.
• Daily practical use of AI to create leverage and the ability to raise a team to an AI-first standard.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and changing environment without relying on heavy established processes.
• Must be based in South Africa.
