Junior Data Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Build and maintain robust data ingestion scripts to pull data from APIs, servers, or files.
• Develop and maintain analytics-ready data layers using dbt for staging and mart models.
• Extend and troubleshoot workflow orchestration frameworks using Airflow DAGs.
• Implement and monitor data quality checks for freshness, volume anomalies, and validation.
• Maintain clean code and comprehensive documentation to accelerate development.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong fundamentals in Python, SQL, and version control (Git).
• Practical experience using dbt for structuring data transformation layers.
• Understanding of workflow orchestration concepts, including DAGs and scheduling.
• Experience with relational databases or data warehouses such as Postgres or Snowflake.
• Must be based in or be able to work from Amsterdam in a hybrid setup.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes (GKE).
• Exposure to Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience with high-throughput messaging like Kafka or Pub/Sub, and cloud storage (GCS, S3).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, specifically GitHub Actions.
