Director of Security Operations (Microsoft Security)

Location: Remote within the United States; work from home or from a local hirify.global US office.

What you will do

• Lead the day-to-day operation of a 24x7x365 Security Operations Center.
• Own operational delivery and continuous improvement of managed MXDR services.
• Provide executive client leadership and align security operations with business objectives.
• Lead Microsoft security operations across Defender XDR, Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, Entra ID Protection, Purview, and Security Copilot.
• Drive incident response readiness, automation, AI adoption, service scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain security professionals while establishing KPIs for service quality, response times, client satisfaction, and profitability.

Requirements

• 8+ years of cybersecurity experience.
• 5+ years leading enterprise security operations or managed security services.
• Demonstrated ability to build repeatable, well-documented operational processes.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively across remote teams and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Must be based in the United States for this remote role.

Nice to have

• CISSP, CCSP, Microsoft Certified Cybersecurity Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified Security Operations Analyst, Microsoft Certified Identity and Access Administrator, or ITIL certification.
