What you will do

• Champion cross-commodity integration across thermal, HVAC, propulsion, and controls to deliver cohesive vehicle-level performance.
• Lead thermal system integration for active domains including coolant loops, refrigerant systems, and airflow management.
• Drive creative problem-solving for complex thermal performance conflicts using trade matrices to balance cost, mass, and energy.
• Guide the use of analytical tools and simulation methods to evaluate alternatives and recommend data-driven solutions.
• Lead program-specific benchmarking to identify opportunities for enhancing system efficiency and integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to ensure technical decisions, risks, and mitigations are accurately documented and communicated.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Thermal/Fluids, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in thermal systems engineering within the automotive or related industries.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
• Proven technical depth in thermal engineering, including HVAC, coolant loops, and underbody airflow.
• Strong communication and influencing skills to align stakeholders across organizations.
• Ability to report to the Warren, Michigan location at least 3 times per week.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Working knowledge of GM engineering processes (VTS, SSTS, GDM, GMW standards).
• Experience with 1D thermodynamic and 3D CFD analysis.
• DFSS Black Belt Certification.
• Experience with global or multi-region programs and geographically distributed teams.
