What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services in Ruby (Roda) within a large-scale microservice architecture.
• Develop API layers and tRPC procedures using TypeScript and Node.js to support Next.js applications.
• Ensure service reliability through instrumentation, monitoring, and observability including tracing, metrics, and logging.
• Collaborate with data engineers on ETL processes and data pipelines to ensure clean data flows.
• Manage production incidents and evolve APIs with a focus on authentication, authorization, and security.
• Participate in code reviews and write comprehensive unit and integration tests.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Ruby backend development experience.
• Location: Ukraine is mandatory.
• Experience with distributed systems and microservice architecture.
• Proficiency with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Datadog, Grafana, or Prometheus.
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js.
• Strong knowledge of AWS core services (EC2, S3, RDS, SQS/SNS, ECS/EKS) and AWS CDK.
• Working hours: 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM EEST.

Nice to have

• Python experience for data tooling, scripting, or services.
• Experience in AdTech or digital advertising/media analytics.
• Prior experience in service migration, decomposition, or platform modernization efforts.
