What you will do

• Manage core database operations including instance scaling, performance tuning, and backup strategies.
• Lead database upgrades and collaborate with developers on schema migrations and query optimization.
• Improve system stability and scalability using monitoring tools like Datadog and Cloudwatch.
• Build and maintain self-service tools, such as automated data model change approval systems.
• Design and manage RDS infrastructure using Terraform.
• Develop automation scripts in Python to assist with Django migrations and model tuning.

Requirements

• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Barcelona.
• 3+ years of experience as a Fullstack or Backend Engineer, preferably with Django/Python.
• Solid understanding of database fundamentals, schema design, and MySQL/PostgreSQL/AWS RDS.
• Experience managing AWS products in production environments.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CDK.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Cloudwatch, or ELK stack.
