What you will do

• Lead the legal function and manage a team of three in-house legal professionals.
• Own the regulatory pipeline, including EMI licence applications in Latvia and the UK.
• Manage ongoing legal obligations under MiCA CASP and PSD2 PI licences.
• Oversee the B2B commercial contract framework, including negotiations with banks, card schemes, and liquidity providers.
• Serve as the primary legal counterpart to international regulators and external counsel.
• Provide strategic legal counsel to the CEO and cross-functional leadership teams.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer in an EU or UK jurisdiction with 8+ years of experience in fintech or regulated financial services.
• Proven ability to independently lead licence applications (MiCA, PSD2, EMI, or VASP) from submission to decision.
• Substantive experience drafting and negotiating complex B2B fintech commercial contracts.
• Fluent professional English required for regulator-facing correspondence and contract negotiation.
• Ability to work within European business hours.
• High autonomy and ability to make legal decisions under pressure.

Nice to have

• Prior experience as a GC, Head of Legal, or VP of Legal in a fintech or crypto company.
• UK FCA cryptoasset registration or full authorisation experience.
• Deep expertise in MiCA post-authorisation obligations or card scheme rules.
• Russian language proficiency.
