Senior Software Developer - Virtualization and SIL Integration (Automotive)

TL;DR

Senior Software Developer (Automotive): Developing virtual in-the-loop (SIL) simulation environments for Propulsion Thermal Management System embedded controllers with an accent on cosimulation integration and virtual model creation. Focus on building HWIO and RTOS components, integrating plant models, and ensuring the quality of simulation environments for verification and validation.

Location: Hybrid: Must report to the office in Markham, Ontario three times per week, at minimum. No immigration sponsorship provided.

Salary: $115,000 – $164,600

What you will do

• Lead the development and integration of cosimulation components to satisfy end-user test requirements.
• Create and maintain virtual controller components, including HWIO, RTOS, and communication models.
• Develop and parameterize sub-system models for sensors, actuators, and ECU behavior.
• Integrate Plant and other ECU models into dynamic virtual simulations.
• Collaborate with System and development engineers to define SIMBOMs and implement new feature requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to team members and support cloud deployments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3-7 years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Embedded C and Python.
• Experience with MATLAB and Simulink for plant model development and integration.
• Knowledge of automotive communication technologies (CAN, LIN, SPI, Automotive Ethernet) and AUTOSAR.
• Familiarity with FMU/FMI standards and SSP.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Experience in virtualization, software integration, or designing vehicle body controls, propulsion thermal, and battery management software.
