Senior Software Developer - Virtualization and SIL Integration (Embedded C)

Location: Hybrid, with a minimum of three days per week at the Markham Elevation Centre in Markham, Ontario, Canada.

Salary: CAD 115,000–164,600 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the development and integration of cosimulation components for end-user testing.
• Create, maintain, and test virtual controller components, including HWIO, RTOS, and communication models.
• Develop and parameterize subsystem models for sensors, actuators, and ECU behavior.
• Integrate plant and ECU models into dynamic virtual simulation environments.
• Collaborate with development and systems engineers to define simulation assets, implement features, and resolve issues.
• Document releases, support deployed simulations and user testing, guide team members, and assist with cloud deployments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Embedded C and Python.
• Experience with embedded controls software, automated build processes, GCC, GDB, Eclipse, Jenkins, and ETAS INCA.
• Experience with MATLAB and Simulink for plant model development and integration, plus familiarity with CAN, LIN, SPI, automotive Ethernet, FMU/FMI, SSP, and AUTOSAR Layered Software Architecture.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Experience in virtualization, software integration, or automotive controls software for vehicle body, propulsion thermal, battery management, chassis, or brake systems.
