Salary: $145,000 – $155,000 CAD

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable backend systems and APIs.
• Provide technical direction across multiple applications and lead architecture discussions.
• Translate business and product requirements into practical technical plans and manage dependencies.
• Improve system performance, security, observability, and maintainability.
• Review code, maintain engineering standards, and debug complex production issues.
• Mentor other engineers and maintain automated tests and CI/CD workflows.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Go, or similar backend languages.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs using frameworks like FastAPI or Gin.
• Experience with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL (schema design and query optimization).
• Must be based in Canada.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with RabbitMQ or other message brokers.
• Proficiency with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms.
• Experience with Docker, Docker Swarm, Nomad, or Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, OpenAPI, and API security.
• Familiarity with DNS, EPP, RDAP, and Linux infrastructure operations.
