What you will do
- Define backend architectural standards and conduct technical reviews across engineering teams.
- Design the transition path from a large monolith to a modular, service-oriented architecture.
- Create and maintain service blueprints, including API conventions, EDA patterns, and observability practices.
- Collaborate with Product and AI/Data teams to integrate AI features into reliable backend systems.
- Write production-ready code for core components, refactoring initiatives, and critical product features.
- Balance long-term architectural integrity with business speed and product priorities.
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience with deep expertise in Python 3.8+.
- Production experience with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Celery, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with AWS messaging services (SQS, SNS, EventBridge).
- Fluent English proficiency.
- Ability to lead by example and communicate complex technical topics to diverse stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience building backend systems for LLMs or AI products.
- Background in EdTech, e-commerce, or high-scale consumer platforms.
- Experience working in startup or high-growth environments.
