What you will do

• Take ownership of analytical investigations from sample receipt to final reporting.
• Perform hands-on laboratory work including extraction, chromatography, and spectroscopy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams to solve materials-related issues.
• Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation to ensure high-quality data.
• Communicate technical findings through detailed reports and presentations.
• Identify and implement improvements to laboratory methods and workflows.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from Longmont, CO.
• Bachelor’s degree in Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science with 5+ years of experience (or equivalent Master’s/PhD).
• Hands-on experience with GCMS, FTIR, TGA, DSC, or similar analytical techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to independently plan and execute laboratory investigations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools such as JMP or ChemStation.

Nice to have

• Experience characterizing adhesives, lubricants, coatings, or other engineered organic materials.
• Background in failure analysis or contamination investigation.
• Interest in applying AI and digital tools to scientific workflows.
