Salary: $123,000 – $172,000 USD / $111,000 – $155,000 CAD

What you will do

• Develop and maintain features, improvements, and bug fixes for open source codebases and IDE plugins.
• Manage the full feature lifecycle from planning and development to release and customer support.
• Create robust testing strategies, including unit and integration tests, to ensure high code quality.
• Author and review technical proposals (RFCs/RFDs) and provide thoughtful peer feedback during code reviews.
• Collaborate with customer support to resolve high-priority issues and integrate user feedback into the product.
• Participate in team organization, including refinement, prioritization, and group estimation.

Requirements

• Professional software development experience with the ability to deliver scoped features independently.
• Proficiency with a modern development toolchain (Git, IDEs, terminal, debugging, dependency management).
• Strong written communication skills suitable for contributing to public repositories.
• Interest in developer tooling, IDE/agent integrations, and open source community work.
• Security-conscious mindset aligned with industry best practices.
• Must be based in the United States or Canada.

Nice to have

• Prior contributions to open source projects.
• Experience building IDE extensions or familiarity with AI-enabled IDEs (e.g., Cursor).
