Software Engineer, AI Enablement (AI)

Salary: $163,000–$226,000 USD base salary per year

What you will do

• Define and drive the internal AI-enablement roadmap with engineering leadership and technical staff.
• Work with the team building Aperture by hirify.global, an AI gateway used internally and offered as a product.
• Build and iterate on tools, workflows, and shared practices that help engineers gain value from coding agents.
• Evaluate AI models and tools and make adoption recommendations.
• Identify high-leverage AI opportunities with engineering and non-engineering teams, enabling them to ship faster.
• Establish guardrails, review practices, documentation, adoption metrics, and impact reporting for AI tooling.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Daily, hands-on fluency with modern AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Pi, or similar.
• Experience building and shipping internal tools or developer-facing automation.
• Strong written and verbal communication and internal advocacy skills, including teaching, writing, and influencing engineers with different levels of AI-tooling experience.
• A balanced approach to using AI effectively and safely where appropriate, without relying on a mandatory AI tool.
• Comfort with ambiguity and self-directed prioritization on a small, still-forming team.
• Product or systems thinking, including the ability to identify and prioritize high-leverage opportunities rather than only execute a predefined roadmap.

Nice to have

• Experience in developer experience, platform engineering, or internal tooling.
• Experience evaluating or benchmarking LLMs and coding agents.
• Experience with Go or Rust in addition to Python.
• Security or code-review experience for reasoning about AI- or agent-generated code.
• Experience in developer relations, technical evangelism, or customer-facing developer advocacy.
• Technical project management experience.
