What you will do

• Own the end-to-end payroll accounting process, including the preparation and posting of monthly journals across all entities.
• Reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts, including wages, pensions, bonuses, and benefits.
• Act as the primary finance business partner for HR, providing workforce cost reporting and headcount analysis.
• Manage payroll cost allocations and business unit cross-charging.
• Support budgeting and forecasting for salary, bonus, and benefit expenditures.
• Ensure full compliance with HMRC and other statutory reporting requirements.

Requirements

• Previous experience in finance, payroll accounting, or management accounting.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes and payroll-related reconciliations.
• Proficiency in preparing journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.

Nice to have

• AAT qualified or currently studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or ACA.
• Experience working with outsourced payroll providers.
• Experience in a multi-entity or international business environment.
• Background in software, technology, or high-growth industries.
• Exposure to HR systems and employee benefits administration.
