TL;DR

What you will do
- Design, build, and evolve regulatory security monitoring and compliance capabilities to ensure controls are scalable and verifiable.
- Lead the development of security telemetry and monitoring solutions, including Database Activity Monitoring.
- Architect and optimize alerting use cases by integrating diverse data sources across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Drive continuous compliance practices by embedding automated control validation and evidencing into engineering workflows.
- Promote modern engineering practices including CI/CD, automation, testing, and infrastructure as code.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members within the Security Data & AI Lab.
Requirements
- Strong experience in security monitoring, telemetry, or compliance engineering.
- Proven ability to design and deliver data-driven monitoring solutions, including pipelines and ingestion frameworks.
- Deep understanding of security logging and regulatory control environments (e.g., SOX, SWIFT CSP, audit logging).
- Experience working with modern cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and distributed architectures.
- Strong structured and analytical approach to solving complex technical challenges.
- Must be based in or able to work from Edinburgh, Bristol, Leeds, or Manchester
Nice to have
- Strong programming or scripting capability using Python, SQL, or similar.
- Experience with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
- Familiarity with observability platforms and large-scale data analytics frameworks.
- Understanding of distributed systems or event-driven architectures.
- Interest in or experience with AI and automation in security and compliance.
