Financial Analyst (Defense)

TL;DR

Financial Analyst (Defense/GovTech): Managing PEO financial activities, including budget planning, execution, and reporting for major IT systems with an accent on financial fidelity and stewardship. Focus on designing data visualization interfaces in Power BI and conducting deep-dive financial analysis to support executive leadership.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain multi-year program and project budgets for both personnel and non-personnel resources.
• Coordinate budget activities with diverse stakeholders, including the PEO Chief, IT Operations, and Comptroller teams.
• Provide oversight for four major IT modernization programs managed by MILDEPs and DFAS.
• Create key metrics and forecasting models to provide analytical insight to executive management.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual deep-dive financial analyses to ensure budget fidelity.
• Manage procurement requests and develop executive-level briefings in MS PowerPoint.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in a financial analyst role.
• Active Secret Clearance.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, complex financial functions, and data structuring.
• Strong communication and writing skills for briefing various levels of executives.

Nice to have

• Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, CFE, CIA, CMA, CGMA, or EA.
• Experience with IGCEs (Independent Government Cost Estimates) for large DoW programs.
• Experience developing sophisticated financial dashboards in Excel.
