What you will do

• Translate product requirements into detailed, testable system and subsystem specifications.
• Define system architectures and interfaces for sensors, compute, power distribution, and actuation.
• Own requirements decomposition and traceability across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
• Develop system-level verification and validation plans aligned with the V-model.
• Lead technical trade studies, risk assessments, and architectural decisions.
• Ensure system compliance with industrial safety standards like ANSI B56.

Requirements

• Must be able to work on-site 5 days per week in Mountain View, CA.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or Robotics Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering for complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Strong experience with industrial safety standards, particularly ANSI B56.
• Hands-on familiarity with sensors, motor systems, and embedded controllers.
• Ability to document and review complex system behaviors and interfaces.

Nice to have

• Experience with autonomous mobile robots or material handling equipment.
• Prior involvement in safety certification, audits, or compliance testing.
• Familiarity with system integration, bring-up, and hardware validation.
