What you will do

• Develop embedded software for vehicle WiFi connection and configuration, supporting both Station and Access Point modes.
• Enable advanced 802.11 features and improve algorithms for network selection, roaming, and configuration management.
• Design modular software architecture that scales across multiple WiFi chipsets and hardware generations.
• Integrate drivers, firmware, and SDKs from chipset vendors and collaborate closely with them for technical support.
• Debug connectivity issues using over-the-air packet captures, telemetry, and vehicle logs.
• Collaborate with Infotainment, UX, Platform, Security, and Hardware teams to architect a scalable vehicle platform.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
• Proficiency with WiFi / 802.11 protocols and modern C++ programming.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills based on first principles.
• Must be located in the Bay Area, CA, USA.

Nice to have

• Experience with wpa_supplicant, hostapd, or WiFi drivers and firmware.
• Skill in 802.11 packet capture analysis using Wireshark.
• Knowledge of Linux or Android routing and firewalls.
• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java.
• Experience with Qualcomm platforms or other wireless technologies like Cellular or Bluetooth.
