Manufacturing Engineer (Semiconductor Equipment)

Location: Onsite in San Diego, California, United States; occasional travel to other locations may be required.

Salary: $102,375–$153,563 base annual salary

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for semiconductor equipment.
• Analyze cycle time, throughput, bottlenecks, material flow, yield, defects, and process variation to drive factory-level improvements.
• Conduct industrial engineering studies covering work content, facility layout, and material flow.
• Apply SPC and process capability analysis, implement containment and corrective actions, and reduce part-to-part variation.
• Create standard work, control plans, work instructions, and visual management systems.
• Work hands-on with production, quality, and engineering teams to validate solutions, support builds, introduce new products, and train operators and technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of relevant manufacturing or industrial engineering experience.
• Experience reading technical drawings and GD&T, creating work instructions, and applying statistical methods.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, 8D, FMEA, and 5 Why problem solving.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom manufacturing environment and hands-on factory setting.
• Experience with Excel, Python, MATLAB, Minitab, JMP, Visio, or similar tools; candidates must be legally authorized to access controlled technology under United States export regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with process optimization tools, quality assurance methods, and Bill of Materials structures.
