Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (AI/Logistics): Building and optimizing integration architectures and autonomous agent workflows for Logistics Service Providers with an accent on API-first design and event-driven pipelines. Location: Hybrid in Chicago (3 days a week in office). Must be authorized to work in the US without current or future employer-sponsored visa support.

Salary: $130,000 – $190,000

What you will do

• Own end-to-end integrations for high-value LSP accounts using bi-directional webhooks and event-driven pipelines.
• Develop and customize agent logic and interfaces for freight procurement, load tendering, and exception handling.
• Build scalable event-driven pipelines using Kafka or PubSub to handle millions of logistics events daily.
• Unify disparate customer data into actionable signals for dynamic interoperability across business systems.
• Debug complex agent-driven workflows by tracing failures back to specific data points, prompts, or tool uses.
• Translate field observations into product roadmap requirements to refine the core AI agent product.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software or solutions engineering in customer-facing roles.
• Mastery of API-first design and bi-directional webhook configuration.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and stream processing (e.g., Kafka, PubSub).
• Hands-on integration experience with TMS, WMS, or ERP systems.
• Deep domain knowledge in logistics, specifically freight procurement, load tendering, and carrier management.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with agentic AI systems, including prompt engineering and stateful agents.
• Prior experience in forward-deployed or field engineering roles.
• Proficiency with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
