Senior Data Engineer (GCP)

TL;DR

Senior Data Engineer (GCP): Designing and optimizing data pipelines and warehouse architectures with an accent on GCP services and BigQuery optimization. Focus on migrating legacy SQL Server pipelines to BigQuery and implementing Data Vault modeling.

Location: Must be based in Portugal (Hybrid: 2x a week in Porto or Lisbon)

What you will do

• Design and optimize complex SQL schemas and queries within BigQuery.
• Orchestrate data pipelines using Cloud Composer and Python scripting against GCP APIs.
• Migrate and adapt ETL/ELT workflows from SQL Server (T-SQL) to BigQuery.
• Implement Data Warehousing concepts, including Data Vault modeling.
• Collaborate with clients to ensure the best technical match and system performance.

Requirements

• 4-6+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer.
• Mastery of GCP services, specifically BigQuery and Cloud Composer.
• Strong SQL expertise and proficiency in Python.
• Must be based in Portugal with Portuguese/EU citizenship or a valid work permit.
• English proficiency level B2.
