Data Scientist (Machine Learning)

TL;DR

Data Scientist (Machine Learning): Building production-ready ML models to enhance user experience and optimize workflows for a curated marketplace of special objects with an accent on scalable code and advanced statistics. Focus on deploying models via Kubernetes on cloud infrastructure and extracting business value from massive datasets.

Location: Hybrid in Lisbon, Portugal (minimum two days a week in the office)

What you will do

• Develop and deploy production-ready ML models using robust and scalable code.
• Explore extensive web and mobile data to identify and solve real-world business problems using advanced statistics.
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and UX designers to identify new ML use cases.
• Implement and scale models using Kubernetes on cloud infrastructure for real-time, asynchronous, and batch predictions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as an all-around Data Scientist.
• Strong quantitative background in statistics, ML, or sciences.
• Fluency in Python and proficiency in SQL.
• Proven experience deploying large-scale ML models in production serving real-time responses.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex model details to non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be based in or able to work from the Lisbon office under a hybrid model.

Nice to have

• Experience with GCP, Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD, PyTorch, or Kafka.
• Background in developing ML products for online marketplaces or ecommerce platforms.
• Expertise in building recommender systems.
• Ability to extract meaning from very large datasets with minimal engineering support.
