Senior Software Developer (Android)

TL;DR

Senior Software Developer (Android): Developing and optimizing Android-based speech framework software for automotive voice assistants with an accent on AOSP, AIDL, and system performance. Focus on implementing customer-specific speech dialog interfaces, optimizing memory/CPU usage, and integrating native Android interfaces.

Location: Hybrid (Republic of Korea). Must be based in or be able to work from the Korea office with requirements to go onsite and accommodate short business travel.

What you will do

• Analyze product requirements and collaborate with R&D to define framework configurations.
• Implement customer-specific speech dialog interfaces using Android infrastructure and AIDL.
• Integrate dependencies to Android native interfaces, speech assistants, and speech-controlled applications.
• Measure and optimize memory and CPU usage on target platforms to reduce latency.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve system performance and consumption.
• Assist project teams with localization and defect reproduction.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of professional work experience.
• Strong expertise in Android, Java, Kotlin, or C/C++.
• In-depth knowledge of Android architecture including AIDL, Binder, Lifecycle, System Services, and AOSP.
• Proficient in Python scripting.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Korean.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Experience with source control tools such as Git/GitLab and Artifactory.
• Background in embedded software development.
• Familiarity with unit test frameworks (Google Test, Jest).
• Knowledge of speech recognition technologies and ASPICE processes.
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as SCRUM.
